The Navy's electronic warfare center is located at Point Mugu Sea Range off the coast in southern California. San Nicolas Island sits on 36,000 acres of instrumented maritime and air space. It allows the Navy to test and evaluate guided missiles, weapons-of-prey, and electronic warfare technology.

The Point Mugu Sea Range is managed by the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division. It is also the Department of the Navy’s center of electronic warfare expertise. It provides logistics and in-service support for guided missiles, free-fall weapons, targets, support equipment, crew systems and electronic warfare technology.
NAWCWD maintains more than 1 million acres of land and multiple weapons development laboratories at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake 150 miles north-east of Los Angeles. It also has a 36,000-square mile sea test range at Point Mugu, and a large range on the West Coast at San Nicolas Island. Both are located off the coast in southern California.
NAS Point Mugu, and the nearby Naval Construction Battalion Center Port Hueneme were merged administratively in 2000 to make Naval Base Ventura County. The installation houses the Pacific Seabees, West Coast E-2D Hawkeyes, and three warfare centers. It also has 80 tenants.

The pt. Mugu Air show 2021 is a great opportunity to take in the beautiful surroundings of this region. The Air Show is an excellent way to see Navy's top demonstration teams and Thunderbirds.
While entertainment at a pt Mugu Air Show is often free, you might want to bring your own food or beverages. There are several food trucks and other restaurants around the base. There are many local wine bars and beer shops that are open until late at night.

Your binoculars will allow you to see from the sky the aerial acrobatics performed by the Air Show performers. You can also take your binoculars with you to see the stunning coastline and hiking trails located just outside of the base.
