What Tanks Does Russia Use in Ukraine?

During the conflict in Ukraine, the T-72 tank has become a regular sight. The International Institute for Strategic Studies recently discovered video footage that shows a convoy containing Russian military vehicles.

T-90

The Russian Army uses a variety of combat vehicles to fight for control in the conflict between Ukraine, Russia. These vehicles can be modern, sophisticated or early Cold War-era vehicles. Russian military plans to reactivate over 800 Soviet-era T62 Tanks and upgrade them within the next three decades. This tank's cost-effectiveness is one reason for the upgrade and reactivation. It is easy to field in large numbers, and it is very affordable to modernise.

T-72B3

The T-72B3 tank has been used by russia in the conflict in Ukraine. Its improved design and new engine allow it to travel at 40 mph along paved roads. Additionally, it can travel 300 m on one tank charge. It looks very similar to the Ukrainian army's tanks.

Russia's T-72M tank tanks suffered severe damage in the recent conflict in Ukraine. It was estimated that 580 of the tanks were destroyed, and there were around 15,000 Russian military personnel killed. It is not an easy task to replace tank-crews. It can take months or even a whole year to replace tank crews.
