An analysis of the homicide and suicide rates in Northern Tunisia shows that they are very similar to those in the United States. The study showed that while the number of murders in Northern Tunisia was just 1.8 per 100,000, it has increased to 3.12/100,000 per year since the revolution. The number of suicides rose by 1.7 times since the revolution. This is a statistically significant change and is concerning not only for the government, it is also concerning for the country’s youth. Given the increasing incidence of both types of death, the nation's healthcare system must adapt to these changes.
