The Army Combat Fitness Test is a physical test that assesses how well soldiers can move from one place to another. The test consists of several exercises that assess the soldier's fitness. These exercises include the Deadlift, a test known as the Army Combat Fitness Test, and the Scorecard.

Occupational physical assessment test

The Occupational physical assessment (or OPAT), is a set of four tests that evaluates the general fitness of Army recruits. The test measures strength and endurance as well cardiorespiratory endurance. It measures physical strength and power of recruits. This tool can reduce the number and cost of training by saving money. You can use the score from the OPT to position recruits in the most appropriate occupational track.

The Army's OPAT was introduced in 2017 and is now mandatory for all recruits. The four parts of this test include agility, coordination and strength as well as stamina. The OPAT is used by the military to determine if a recruit can be assigned to a specific specialty.

Army Combat Fitness

The United States Army will soon introduce a new fitness exam. It is designed to accurately reflect the stresses experienced while in combat. This new test will also help reduce the severity of musculoskeletal injury suffered by servicemen. It was designed to address the low levels of physical fitness in recruits. If the Army is to improve the quality of its soldiers, it needs to improve its physical fitness standards.

A series of exercises and drills are part of the military combat fitness exam. These exercises aim to test members' strength, endurance, and stamina. The standing power throw simulates throwing a 10-pound object backwards. These exercises are crucial in order to lift heavy equipment and move quickly over uneven terrain.

Deadlift

An ACFT Deadlift Event has three phases. The first phase requires three repetitions for a given weight. The repetitions are counted only if the weight remains in the ground, so it is important to continue lifting until all three repetitions are completed. Failure to complete 3 repetitions will result a 2nd attempt at a lighter weight.

The second phase includes a self paced warm-up. This warm-up session helps prepare soldiers to perform the ACFT deadlift. Each station adds 20 pounds to the weight. This allows soldiers to build up a substantial base of strength without committing to a lengthy exercise regimen.

The test adheres to strict standards, and can be broken down by age and gender. The test will be open to active-duty Soldiers on April 1, 2022 and reserve Soldiers on October 1, 2022. It is expected that soldiers will pass the test by the April 2023 or April 2024 deadlines.
